Nestlé Health Science to collaborate with universities in the U.S. and Australia to further the science of nutrition

Nestlé Health Science is supporting the next generation of leaders in health science through alliances with start-up incubators at three prestigious universities.

The collaborations with the Food & Nutrition Innovation Institute at the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, the University of California Davis Innovation Institute for Food & Health, and Australia Catholic University are focused on advancing promising innovations in the science of nutrition. Through the strategic alliances, Nestlé Health Science will provide mentorship, internships, professional development, and scientific advisory support.

“We want to encourage new solutions in health science through working directly with individuals who have brilliant ideas and could use professional guidance to develop them,” said Hans Manning, Vice President of Innovation & Strategy at the R+D center for Nestlé Health Science in Bridgewater, New Jersey. “The strategic collaborations with the universities allows us to work with entrepreneurs to help them bring highly differentiated products to the market in three key areas: women’s health; healthy longevity; and weight management. The ultimate aim is to provide science-based, groundbreaking nutritional solutions to advance the health status of consumers and patients.”

Each university alliance is tailored to the strengths of and opportunities identified by the respective universities.

The Nestlé Health Science R+D Accelerator is within the Nestlé Product Technology Center (NPTC), a global research and development hub located at Nestlé Health Science’s headquarters in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Since its inauguration in 2018, the NPTC has been at the forefront of elevating the power of nutrition by translating science into innovation for consumers, patients and healthcare professionals.
