Renastep Bottle


Renastep is a ready to use high energy, low volume liquid feed containing protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals, trace elements and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), with low levels of potassium, phosphorus, calcium, chloride and vitamin A. Renastep is for the dietary management of kidney disease from 3 years of age onwards.


Renastep has a vanilla flavour.


Renastep is a food for special medical purposes and must be used under medical supervision.


Regular monitoring of nutritional status and electrolyte levels is required.


Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition.

Key Features on Renastep:
  • Has been designed specifically for children with kidney disease in conjunction with key Healthcare Professionals working within this specialism.
  • Has a flexible use and can be used in varying amounts in conjunction with other paediatric enteral feeds and / or oral diet to meet individual nutritional requirements.
  • Contains LCP's
  • Can be administered as a tube feed or taken orally. It can also be added to various foods and drinks. Recipes are available on request.
  • Is high in energy (2kcal/ml) which is of high importance for those who are on a fluid restriction1.
  • Has a tailored level of protein (2g/100kcal) to ensure protein requirements are met to optimise growth, without exceeding requirements.
  • Has a tailored micronutrient content specific for children from 3 years of age onwards with kidney disease.
  • Has low levels of potassium and phosphorus compared to standard paediatric enteral feeds to facilitate dietary restrictions which are commonly needed in the management of kidney disease.
  • Has low levels of calcium compared to standard paediatric enteral feeds to allow the use of calcium-based phosphate binders2.
  • Has a low level of vitamin A compared to standard paediatric enteral feeds, to ensure vitamin A toxicity is avoided, a complication often associated with this condition3.
  • Comes in a ready to use format reducing the complexity and preparation errors associated with powdered products and reducing the burden for caregivers4.
