New Meritene® Mobilis

New Meritene® Mobilis

Cartilage (a key component of joints), muscles and bones allow us to be active, stay mobile and enjoy life. However, after the age of 50, your body changes and the ageing process can affect mobility. This may include the:

  • Reduction in the thickness of articular cartilage
  • Loss of muscle mass and strength
  • Decline in bone mineral density

To continue enjoying an active life, regular exercise, a balanced diet and healthy weight management are key.

Each serving of MERITENE® Mobilis® contains ingredients that help maintain joint, muscle and bone health:

  • Rich in vitamin C (60% of recommended daily intake). Vitamin C helps collagen formation for the normal functioning of cartilage.
  • 10 g of high quality protein (roughly the protein equivalent of one 50 g large egg plus 13 whole almonds). Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass.
Did you know that experts recommend that older adults increase their daily protein up to 1.2 g of protein per kilo of body weight(1)? Therefore, if you weigh 70 kg, you should consider getting 84 g of protein per day. In addition, studies suggest that protein should be consumed at each meal.
  • Rich in calcium (40% of recommended daily intake, roughly the calcium equivalent of one big cup of milk) to help maintain normal bones.
Did you know that calcium helps to reduce the loss of bone mineral in post-menopausal women and is essential to maintaining normal bones at all ages? Healthy bones support good mobility.
  • Vitamin D (68% of recommended daily intake) to help maintain normal bones.
Did you know that vitamin D is also a key nutrient to help with the absorption of calcium?

MERITENE® Mobilis® also contains hyaluronic acid and hydrolysed collagen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is protein important for good mobility?

Protein helps to maintain muscle mass and growth, which supports our movement.

Studies show that adults from the age of 30 lose as much as 1% of muscle mass each year. Maintaining adequate levels of lean muscle mass through protein intake and adequate exercise – together with good bone and joint health – is essential for good mobility, as we get older.
